Abstract
The idea of ‘day in the life’ came up during a group discussion after trying to decide how to collaborate on the same idea, in different cities, using various platforms. This was a topic that everyone seemed attracted to: it was a simple and open-ended task that had limitless possibilities. This project allowed us all to think about our day-to-day routines through completely different lenses. Traditional methods of capturing traditional narrative documentary modes like voiceovers, montage, and background music were used but they were infused with new storytelling tools like the platform storify, social media, database documentaries, and mobile devices. Our individual stories are collectively chronicled through this page, which allows for a more comparative and engaged viewing for the reader of the texts.

Be Sound As A Dollar is a narrative piece composed of a real-life journey of a ‘a day in the life’ of me and two of my friends, using a dollar bill as the protagonist. It’s a journey of the dollar bill as it would be passed from person to person, from New York City to a small town called Narrowsburg in upstate New York. It is made up with non-linear raw footage and ambient sounds.
